On July 7th a video surfaced on social media of a gang sexually assaulting a couple, beating them and also abusing them verbally. This woke up the netizens and people can’t stop demanding the arrest of Usman Mirza.

Usman Mirza is the co-owner of the showroom Autoland that deals with new and used cars. He’s also a TikToker where he brags about his masculinity and the power with his weapons. But the question is who gives him the authority to record a couple’s intimate videos and blackmail them for money?

According to sources, he’s a habitual blackmailer. He along with his gang was blackmailing couples for quite a long time and for the surfaced couple, he had already taken 1.3 million from the victim girl.

It’s one video that has devastated us to the core but how many other couples would have been a victim of it?

This time the police showed a responsible attitude, unlike the motorway rape incident where Lahore’s CCPO openly blamed the victim.

This incident is a question to our system, why the evildoers feel so powerful in our state that they don’t feel an ounce of shame over these nefarious acts. It was one video that circulated all over the media but how many more victims would be hiding in their shells with the fear of being everywhere on social media.

Also, instead of victim-blaming, it’s high time the state should do their part in overcoming the lack of rules and regulations in our country. If we don’t do anything today, we can’t stop these criminal acts in the future.
