Pakistan’s YouTube community is levelling up with time. You would find plenty of authentic, information-driven, unique content on Pakistani youtube channels.
But for the first time in history, our popular content creators hosted the former prime minister of Pakistan in a podcast.
The podcast was released on 6th May on three biggest youtube channels in Pakistan; Thought Behind Things, Junaid Akram, and TCM Originals. This is not only a great shift in the airing medium but we also heard the diversity of questions during the interview.
The podcast was hosted by Syed Muzamil Hasan Zaidi who’s the host of Pakistan’s fastest growing podcast Thought Behind Things, Junaid Akram pioneer of Pakistani podcasts and also one of the popular video creators, and Talha Ahad; founder of Pakistan’s first all-digital, independent news network The Centrum Media (TCM).
For the first time, these hosts interviewed Imran Khan on behalf of the youth and asked questions that weren’t asked before.
Some of them include:
- What’s PTI without Imran Khan?
- How can youth join politics? What’s the roadmap?
- What plans do you have for inspirational content for GenZ?
- What are your regrets?
- Where do you think you lack in your 3.5 years of governance?
- What’s your plan for Karachi?
- What’s the future of Pakistan?
And a lot more in 1.5 hours podcast.
The good thing was that Imran Khan adopted the pattern of the podcast and gives answers while keeping his cool. He mentioned how the conspiracy started, his mission vision, the role of social media, overseas Pakistanis and youth. He also elaborated on the importance of the family system and how adopting the West can destroy our culture.
In conversation with the social media influencers, he also appreciated India for its independent policies and said he’s not against any country. He’s only against a corrupt mindset. He wants people to become leaders instead of beggars. Khan added that a nation without moral values has nothing to lose so it’s high time we should stand together as a nation on the basis of humanity.
In addition, he revealed why he’s so much in the favour of merit and how nations can progress while taking hold of a merit-based system.
The whole conversation was engaging and unskippable. It was great to see the ex-prime minister of Pakistan interacting with the youth and making them understand PTI’s mission and vision.
When Muzzamil asked what’s PTI without Imran Khan, instead of taking it on him he said, he will appoint the deserving leader as his replacement. PTI isn’t a one-man cause, it’s about Pakistan.
Some of the things were the same he said in other interviews like the anger toward the current government and how they are ruining Pakistan. While on the other hand, you will also see another side of the story, his opinion on the army, and what caused their failure.
In a question from Talha Ahad, about what went wrong with the military establishment, he answered:
“I couldn’t even think of making any decisions about the appointment of the army chief without considering merit. I would like my army to be strong. There was no such thing in mind, yet they spread rumours about my preference for Faiz Hameed as the chief of army staff.”
The podcast is now up everywhere on social media and has garnered views in millions.
It’s another sign that our content makers are making a huge impact on the community. It’s high time we should highlight their roles in the progress of Pakistan.

Is this a Social Media Revolution?
All these three hosts are the ones who started from scratch and build their influence with time. People know their journey and also their growth. Seeing them interview Imran Khan is a game-changer for the Youtubers community. The podcast has shown the impact of social media and how important it’s to bring a change. With the depletion of the television audience, social media influencers are next to create an impact on people.
Also, social media is full of praises for the Youtube community for hosting Imran Khan. Is that a major change while moving toward Digital Pakistan?
I prefer books and diaries more than phones and Facebook. Soulfully connected to Pakistan. And I passionately believe that I can change the world through blogging.
