10Pearls University since its inception in 2016 focuses on facilitating learning and growth in the tech space through interactive training, webinars and events.
The university has been organizing women tech quests for the past five years. This year, the competition is going to set big as it invites and encourages women across the nation to compete, network and bring forward their tech talent.
Last year, the women tech quest was held online due to Covid. Despite that more than 1000 women participated in the event not only from Pakistan but also from USA, Italy, Jordan, and Germany.
This year again, 10Pearls WTQ aims to inspire women to excel in their careers in tech. Since, in Pakistan, you will hardly find any organization bringing women in tech to the front, this is a great opportunity to showcase your talent.
According to Zeeshan Aftab, Co-Founder, 10Pearls,
“As a leading technology company, we want to create an ecosystem that enables women to demonstrate their creativity and expertise, network with influential professionals, and accelerate their careers. This edition of WTQ gave women across Pakistan an opportunity to compete, win prizes and learn from women excelling in the global tech landscape.”
The competition is divided into three sections; coding, testing, and design. Coding competition requires participants to use any programming language to solve a series of problems. In the testing competition, the judges test women on their database and automation concepts while in the designing competition, the participants are required to solve a UI/UX challenge following their approach towards designing. From all these three sections, six winners will qualify – two from each category who will have the chance to win prices worth Rs.25,000 along with the spotlight and networking opportunities.
The event is sponsored by KT, Swvl, Sastaticketpk, and other emerging companies in Pakistan. Also, inspiring women entrepreneurs are set to speak in the session. Some of the names include Halima Iqbal (founder of Oraan), Uzma Sadaqat (Founder of WellnessHive), Dr Zainab Zadeh, Dr Tasnim Rehna, Fatemah Sajwani, Dr Asia Khanum, and Carrie Kerpen.
Apart from the competition, the event will also focus on tech conversation, success stories, and problems women face in their careers. If you don’t feel like competing, you can attend the event to network and to learn from other tech leaders.
The event will be held on 12th March in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad at 10Pearl’s office in the respective cities.
If you’re a student or a professional belonging to the tech space, this is a great opportunity to buckle yourself up as it happens once a year only.
