If you’re someone who wants to start your reading journey but doesn’t know where to start there’s a book that can be your guide.
This book is a culmination of 50 best books including a vast genre of self-help, philosophy, literature, history, business, religion, biographies and autobiographies.
It’s penned by none other than one of the best booktubers of Pakistan – Shahrukh Nadeem. He’s a premier Pakistani booktuber who’s on a mission to make Pakistan read. Quite recently, he launched his debut book “Readistan” in which he summarized 50 best reads of his life.
Starting from his personal story about the struggles of his father in raising a family, and his journey of getting into reading, the book takes a perfect start to inspire readers from the beginning.
Going on further, the first chapter starts with the summary of the book, “Man’s Search for Meaning.” In the summary, you will find the crux of the book including the author details, the emphasis on logotherapy and how one can lead a happy life by finding meaning in their lives.
Second mention is the Startup Nation. It’s the most recommended book for the people of Pakistan as we lack in building businesses from scratch because of the fear of failure and not leaving our comfort zones.
Moving next, you’ll also find more summaries of the books like Atomic Habits, Animal Farm, Lolita, 5 AM club, Game Changer and more.
If you’re an avid reader you might have read most of the books mentioned in it. And if you’re about to start your reading journey, you can take guesses on what to read from these mentions.
One of the best mentions is “The 100: A Ranking Of The Most Influential Persons In History” where he described the influence of Prophet Mohammed PBUH and what made him to the top position despite the fact the book is written by a non-muslim and based on unbiased rankings.
Some of the mentions will inspire you to pick the original books to read. That’s what his mission is to make people read. This concept is quite rare and seeing a Pakistani author taking the lead is a moment of pride for the readers community in Pakistan.
This book suits his mission of enlightening people with the benefits of reading because as the reader picks his book, he will be inspired to pick the original one to know more about the story.
But as I was reading the book, I found good books of Urdu literature missing from the compilation like Zavia, Raja Gidh and Manchalay ka Sauda by Ashfaq Ahmed as I have seen him talking about this book on his channel but not mentioning them was a surprise for me. One best books is the autobiography of Edhi which is one the best read and should be read by all.
However, if you haven’t read the book yet, I would recommend you pick it up because you won’t regret it later.
The book is published under Liberty Publishing and is available on their website and bookstores.
I prefer books and diaries more than phones and Facebook. Soulfully connected to Pakistan. And I passionately believe that I can change the world through blogging.
