When you roam on Pakistani streets, you’ll come across stalls and local shops run by highly educated engineers.
A story similar to this went viral on social media where an aeronautical engineer was selling handmade juice in Karachi. He tried a lot for a good job but got disheartened and choose to run a cart to feed his family.
And there are so many other stories like this. According to the Labour Force Survey, the number of unemployed people has reached 6M in 2021.
Besides being a hub of talent, why still, we can’t eradicate unemployment from our system?
In a recent viral clip of the former education minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Col. Retd. Waqar Ahmed Noor was caught on cameras talking about how they select people for the system.
While addressing the workers, he said there’s no merit, only the people he chooses, got selected and given the opportunity. He further explained, there’s no test and no interviews for hiring.
This is indeed a shocking confession where the education minister is flaunting the loopholes of the system.
Unfortunately, it’s one clip that went viral, how many higher authorities would be ruining the future of our country by disowning the merit system in Pakistan.
