Islamabad: Ehsaas School Stipend Program will make education accessible to everyone. Parents will be given a monthly stipend to send their children to school, especially girls.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Prime Minister said that the West has an impression about Pakistan that we don’t educate our girls. But that’s not true. Our Ehsaas Stipend Program will encourage parents to send their children especially daughters to school.
The program was launched on 1st Sept (Wednesday). The Ehsaas Program is successfully rolling out in more than 160 districts. More access to education will give children their basic right to step into their life with educated minds.
The stipends will be given to children from 4-22 years of age. To qualify for the stipends students must show 70% of their attendance. The incentive is higher for girls as compared to boys.
At the primary level, girls will receive Rs, 2000 as quarterly incentives, while boys will get Rs, 1500.
At secondary level, girls and boys will get Rs, 3000 and Rs, 2000 respectively. Whereas at the higher secondary level, boys will get Rs, 3500 and girls will get Rs, 4000.
This is an excellent and much-needed initiative by the government to grow educated mindsets all across the nation. The prime minister defines the lack of education and schools as the driving factors behind this program.
In addition, more than 1000 staff members have been hired to enrol students in schools and provide them education under this program.
