How blessed are we to walk, run, and play as a complete being?
Unfortunately, there are some people who’re deprived of this beautiful blessing. They want to live a normal life but their missing limbs resist them. They have dreams to fly, to be the best sportsman in the world, to be a responsible citizen of the country, and to be known more than a differently-abled person.
When it’s even hard to imagine life without limbs, around 15 percent of our population aren’t able to live a normal life. They either don’t have limbs or are affected by the events which have caused them to suffer the rest of their lives.
But the world belongs to all of them. They have equal rights to walk with pride, cherish nature, and smile without sorrow.
Chal Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to bring back the lost joy. It was started with the mission to fill the gap of rehabilitation services in Pakistan. After the 2005 earthquake, the foundation realized the massive number of children who were majorly affected by the disaster. A lot of them lost their limbs and others were severely affected which disrupts their mobility.
They are working with the vision to transform the lives of the physically challenged person. The organization has changed more than 30,000 lives by giving back the limbs through prosthetics. It’s a treatment to make amputees walk by giving them artificial body parts.
The NGO has 13 centers across Pakistan and it’s also certified by Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). They are on the mission to make people move through prosthetic devices, orthotic devices, cosmetic appliances, mobility aids, and other services.
All these treatments are done by medical professionals who are also rehab service specialists.
The organization offers free of cost services to patients. It breathes on charity. The more people lend funds to the organization, the higher is the ratio of making people move.
The price of one life-savvy prosthetic treatment can cost Rs, 25,000-50,000. The price may be a huge amount for you but the satisfaction to see a child smiling because of your donation gives everlasting happiness.
Chal Foundation is the only organization in Pakistan in the rehab sector that’s present in all provinces of Pakistan including Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In the next 10 years, the foundation aims to provide 100,000 artificial limbs to make people smile. And they have a great vision to grow so they can empower the differently-abled people in Pakistan.
But all this can be possible when a massive number of people donate to the cause. If you can’t afford the full amount to sponsor one patient, you can start with the little you have.
