Man Chalay Ka Sauda is an Urdu drama written by Ashfaq Ahmed in 1990. It’s popular even today for its story and enticing conversations between the characters.
These dialogues are from Episode 5 in a scene where the cobbler (Ramzan Mochi) is in prison and Irshad (businessman) has come to take him out. The conversation between them goes as follows:
Irshad: Mai apki Zamanat karanay k lie haazir hua hun
Ramzan: Iski chanda zaroorat nahi bhae jaan! Ye khud hi theek hojaega apnay wakt par. Zaroorat is amar ki hai k ap search light lai kar makhlooq khuda ki rehnumae karain.
Irshad: Search Light sir?
Ramzan: Aur ye search light science ko hasil kie bgair hath nahi aege…physics smajhay bgair metaphysics nahi pakri jae gi. Is daur ma physics hi metaphysics mai dhalti jarhi hai aur is Quantum Physics k andar hi sara raz poshida hai.
Irshad: Quantum Physics?
Ramzan: O Bhae Jaan! Quantum theory ko janay bgair aur photon ki kefiat ko samjhay bina Gous ul Azam ka ye israr kese samjh lo gay k muwahid jab maqam Tauheed par phnchta hai tw na Muwahid rehta hai na Tauheed, na Wahid na Bisyar, na Abid na Mabood, na Hasti na Nesti, na Sift na Musoof, na Zaahir na Batin, na Manzil na Muqam, na Kufr na Islam, na Kaafir na Musalman……Aur Bhae Jan…
At subatomic level, matter does not exist with certainty but rather shows tendencies to exist, This is why particles can be waves at the same time.
Irshad: Sir ma tw sirf batin k safar ma interested hun.
Ramzan: Batin ka safar! Saeen bn’na hai? Phir tajurbay se guzarna hoga. Scientist ki trah yaktarfa hona hoga. Is k rawaiye ki pairvi karni pregi….muth ma utarna prega aur muth ma utray tw muraqba karna prega. Aur muraqba laboratory ma hota hai bhae jan, zubani kalami ilm ma nhi….chapi chpae maloomat ma nahi… Saeen bn’ne ka irada ha?

Ramzan: Rasta badal gia hai. Udhr se ana prega, Science k samnadar ma.
Irshad: Behter Sir!
Ramzan: Science k teacher na ban jana, science k sadhu bn’na. Saeen Max Plank ki trah, Saeen, Neils Bohr ki trah, Baba Ruther Ford aur Saeen Einstein ki trah. Tum par zamanay ka batin roshan honay lagay ga bhae jan. Time space, dono grift ma ajaengy.
The point of sharing this conversation is to explain the role of Science in our life. How purposeless our life is without Science. It leads us to find the meaning of our lives. It’s high time to emphasize science and education to produce great minds and intellects in the world.
