Reading is my best hobby and I always try to learn something new. I remember those days when I was a kid, and reading was one of my major activities. I used to read a lot. My Father has a small library. I read almost 600 books in just three years in my Father’s collection, when I was about 14 year old. Even in this reading I lost my eyesight to -200. My Father has a collection of Islamic books. So in my childhood I completely read about Islamic studies.
When I grew up and I got a smartphone for the first time, I decided to read and learn through digital platforms. And on my phone I followed and subscribed to learning content and study material. And I learned a lot through my smartphone. Along with digital learning, reading books was still my favorite hobby, so now this time I choose international best sellers. And in this period, I studied both fiction and non-fiction. I explored a lot of the world through my reading and also I got addicted to new learning. It was my addiction to learning more and more. I used to read informational content. And now as I am 19 year old, I have studied about 3000 books of both fiction and non-fiction.
Since I have studied a lot of books but a few books are my most favourite and today in this article I will suggest 6 best books. These books are famous worldwide and you can read them in your free time too.
1. The End of History and the Last Man
The End of History and the Last Man is written by American political philosopher Francis Fukuyama. This book is personally one of my favorites. It was first published in 1992. And after publishing it started a new chapter of controversies. The author urges that after the collapse of the Soviet Union and after the end of the Cold War, the history of human ideological evolution ended. This book is an international best seller and famous worldwide.
2. The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order
This political book is written by Samuel Huntington, American political scientist and adviser. This book describes the Clashes between civilizations. It was at first an article written by Samuel Huntington on the cold war. After the end of the Cold War, there were many ideological hypotheses built up. And Samuel Huntington’s ideology was one of the most famous ideological hypotheses. This book got international attention and became a best seller.
3. An Era of Darkness, the British Empire in India
An Era of Darkness is written by Dr Shashi Tharoor, Indian former diplomat, Politician and writer. Dr Sashi Tharoor is considered as the most followed political figure in India. In this book he describes the Era of British Raj in the Indian subcontinent. He describes this Era as an “Era of Darkness”. Because he believes that the British are responsible for the destruction and dividend of India. The whole book is about the British brutal era, looting of Indian resources, and the conflicts between British and Indians. He briefly describes that the reason behind losing our superpower status was the British Raj.
4. One Hundred years of Solitude
One hundred years of solitude is a famous novel written by Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It is about the multigenerational story of Buedia Family’s elitism. This family lives in the fictional town of Macondo in Columbia. This novel has been translated into 46 languages and is considered a major book of World Literature.
5. The Three Musketeers
The Three Musketeers novel is a French adventurous novel based on the 17th century of french history, written by Famous French author Alexander Dumas. The novel is one of the most famous novels in the world. The story is about the adventures of a young man named d’Artagnan. The novel was published in 1844 in Spanish as “Les Trois mousquetaires”.
6. The Last Mughal
The Last Mughal is a historical book about the Mughal Dynasty in the Indian Subcontinent. This book is written by William Dalrymple, a Delhi based Scottish historian. Published in 2006, this book describes the last emperors and the last days of Mughal Dynasty. It tells the fallen story of the Great Mughal Empire. It tells the Mughal’s story and the 1857 War.
